The Scientific Annals of the "Al. I. Cuza" University from Iaşi (New Series). Orthodox Theology is the official journal of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology "Dumitru Stăniloae" from Iaşi. Founded in 1992, shortly after the reestablishment (in 1990) and integration of the Faculty of Theology (in 1991) in the "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University, the journal covers a range of various Theology topics (biblical, historical, systematic, practical and social theology) of Christian pedagogy and sacred arts, as well as in the field of inter and multidisciplinary research.
Together with other local and central publications, The Scientific Annals of the "Al. I. Cuza" University from Iaşi (New Series). Orthodox Theology mediates the dissemination of the results of various research projects conducted by faculty members as well as by other local and foreign researchers and collaborators of the journal. At the same time, it reflects the academic activities of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology.
Since 2009, in order to meet the new academic requirements, The Scientific Annals of the "Al. I. Cuza" University from Iaşi (New Series). Orthodox Theology has undergone a comprehensive and sustained process of improvement, aimed at enhancing its scientific quality and its impact by getting better grading as well as intensifying the exchange of journals with prestigious institutions from the country and abroad. In this respect, a number of changes have been made, such as biannual publication, publishing articles in international languages only, the use of the Chicago Manual of Style in terms of citation, the progressive implementation of the peer-reviewed evaluation of the articles submitted for publication, Central and Eastern European Online Library database indexing etc.
The Scientific Annals of the "Al. I. Cuza" University from Iaşi (New Series). Orthodox Theology aims at becoming a journal of reference in the Romanian and international theological academic field, at contributing to a greater extent to the academic and spiritual information as well as formation of its readers and, last but not least, at providing a better and more efficient international openness to the Romanian academic orthodox theology.
